Killing in the Name of God

April 14, 2025

It appears as if the continued war in Gaza is about the abducted.

It is not.

The abducted are being used by both parties to continue the war, as both parties share a common goal: the more destruction and death, the better.

Hamas will not release the abducted. It causes Israel to attack even more aggressively, which serves Hamas' interests: the more Israel attacks, destroys, and kills, the stronger Hamas becomes, as more Palestinians join their ranks seeking revenge and more pro-Palestinian demonstrations take place worldwide, isolating Israel.

And on the Israeli side, if the Israeli government decides to stop fighting—the condition Hamas poses to get the abducted free—there will be less killing of Palestinians, less destruction, and less chance for the Messianic Jews to settle Gaza.

They both benefit from the war and share a common goal: the more death, the better.

How can that be?

The common assumption is that a government—especially one democratically elected—should protect its people and minimize the damage their people suffer.

This is not the case in this war. Both Hamas and the Messianic Jews do not serve their people. They serve God—or God's wishes as they interpret them—and if millions die—children, women, the innocents—so be it. That is the price they are willing to cause the people they lead to pay in serving God.

What is the solution?

God should change His instructions.

So far, neither party shows they are in contact with a Loving God. In my judgment, they are serving Hate—i.e., the Devil—in the name of God.

What else can be done?

The liberals who seek peace on both sides should get united offline to decide how to diminish the damage done to each other. Shadow governments on both sides negotiating terms to bring some true relief—and eventually, peace.

But that denies democracy, one might say. Both Hamas and Bibi were elected and represent the wishes of their people.

Not so.

Neither Hamas nor the Israeli government respect democracy. They used democracy to get to power.

As long as there is no change in the power structure of each government, there cannot be peace. And the abducted will die--and more innocent children will not laugh, play, and grow to live.
